Julie has 30 years of LTC experience. She has worked as an MDS Coordinator and a Director of Nursing, has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 2008 and is currently the Executive Director for Chatham Nursing & Rehabilitation in Elkin, NC.
Julie is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and is Board-Certified in Infection Prevention. Being a Certified Director of Nursing, Julie is also a member of the Fellows Academy of Certified Directors of Nursing in Long Term Care. She is the winner of the Spirit of NADONA award and NADONA Southeast Nurse Administrator of the Year for 2015.
Julie is a member of the Education & Programs Committee for the NC Healthcare Facilities Association, she sits on the Steering Committee for the Triad Healthcare Preparedness Coalition and is active in the Salvation Army.
This is Julie’s 24th year with the North Carolina Directors of Nursing in Long Term Care and holds the office of Vice-President and Vendor Liaison. She proudly serves as Treasurer for NADONA as well. In 2019 Julie graduated from the Executive Fellows Leadership Academy.
Julie was a winner of the AHCA 2020 Bronze Award and has been voted Best Assisted Living & Memory Care Unit by her community for the last three years. Julie became a Certified Assisted Living Nurse in 2022 and received her board certification in QAPI in 2023.
